Open House 2022 in Holbæk flying club

by Natalie Kjaergaard

It was raining in the morning. We were sitting in the club house, drinking coffee and monitoring the weather.

In the afternoon it cleared up, the rain stopped, and we welcomed the first aircraft landing – it was a Chipmunk with Kim and Søren.

We began setting up the tables and arranging grill.

Our members who have their aircraft in Holbæk flying club, took them out of hangars. Below is one of those best vintage examples, Kenneth’s L-4:

Vintage bikes and cars were on static display:

And soon Henrik in his KZ-II and Kim in Chipmunk took off to meet Hans in the air in his T-17, and do some fomation flying for us and our guests.

I had a number of colleagues and friends visiting me that day: Lafira with her family, Barbara and Lars, Nanna and Flemming, Heidi and Kenneth together with Kenneth’s nephew-twins:

The boys were very shy, but they loved being there and getting into the cockpit of my Aeroprakt.

After the first part of the “air show” which we all loved so much, Henrik, Kim and Hans landed one after one. First, Hans in his T-17:

Then Kim in Chipmunk:

And finally, Henrik in KZ-II:

As the weather improved, more and more people came by. Helle and Thomas were grilling sausages for the guests:

Danaero, the company that delivered my Aeroprakt for 2 years ago, was also there. Steen used the opportunity to do some maintenance work on my OY-9797:

Simba, Buller, Flemming and I were standing right outside and observing Steen working – laughing that we would evaluate his job when he is finished 🙂

All our hangars were open, and visitors could walk around and come close to our aircraft.

Just when I was about to leave, Klaus – another colleague of mine – came by.

I got a tour in his Audi TT, and Klaus – a flight in my Aeroprakt:

By that time, the weather was really good and we appreciated the chance given:

When we landed back, almost all of my club mates already left. They had cleaned up, and everything was in order. The last man leaving was Boye, our chairman:

It was a good day, and taking into consideration the weather conditions, we could definitely call it a success. Many thanks to Hans, Kim and Henrik for entertaining us; to all who flew in or just came by!
