Happy Women’s Day!

by Natalie Kjaergaard

After being sick on and off for about 5 weeks, it was truly a gift to be able to go flying.  I was healthy again and the weather was excellent – what else could you wish for? By coincidence, it happened on the 8th March,  International Women’s Day.

The first spring flowers near my flying club were blooming – I went to say hello to them and to take some pictures:

It was cold and sunny, and there was frozen fog that morning. I wondered how misty the air would be. It was ok, but flying against the sunlight was tough. You couldn’t see much…

After checking out the Ellinge Lyng Korevlerne, a beautiful nature area in Sejerø Bay, I did a round over the Torbenfeld manor, known from the 14th century:

Tiny Lindholm island south of Orø:

A small village with an old windmill:

Sanddobberne, protected nature area:

In that mist, I couldn’t find the Løvenborg Castle. I was lookng for it, but coudn’t locate. And suddenly it just was there, with its red buildings, surrounded by a moat filled with water:

I landed a little before the sunset. My flight that day was very local – that’s what you can get with the weather we have had:

The sunset on the ground was marvellous,  and I hurried up to take the last glmpse of the setting sun:

I was so glad to be airborne. Happy Women’s Day to those who celebrate!
