Working day in Hangar 1

by Natalie Kjaergaard

A couple of weeks earlier, Paul called me to ask whether I wanted to join them today on a hangar working day. Of course, I said yes – it is always a great fun! I rent a place for my aircraft there, and though I couldn’t help much physically I offered to serve food, clean up, do the dishes, make sure there is fresh coffee, and things like that.

I came to our flying club early this morning, Lars had done all the shopping, and I prepared breakfast. Around 9 a.m. everybody who wanted to give a hand was there:

After breakfast, our strong men began the work – preparing the ground for laying tiles in front of the hangar:

I took a couple of photos with my drone:

Laying tiles is a very hard work. Besides skills, one also need to be strong. Many of those men had had back pain, but all of them were working without any complains:

Frederiksberg Chokolade delivered freshly made chocolate – we enjoyed it so much:

I was working in the kitchen:

Lunch was very nice and cheerful, but also very short – after just 30 minutes all our men rushed back to work:

They continued working till they finished everything. Approx. 12 tons of ties were moved around:

I took some drone photos of the work completed:

A cup of coffee before leaving home and spending Saturday evening with the family or friends:

Great day, and many thanks to all who worked on the Hangar 1 today!
