Morning flight

by Natalie Kjaergaard

It was -4C when Daniel and I met in Albatros flying club this morning. The airfield was so beautiful covered in rime:

As  soon as I pulled the aircraft out of hangar, its wings got a thin layer of ice on, and we waited in the sunlight till the ice disappeared before we took off.  We were going on a flight over Copenhagen, and I decided to enter Kastrup control zone from north, so that Daniel would have a better view of Copenhagen in the morning sun from his seat. The city of Skovshoved far right:

Charlottenlund Fort on the right:

Nordhavn, UNICEF star-shaped building (how long time does it take to walk from one wing to another and back again?), Langelinie, and a nice view of the lakes inside Copenhagen:

A closer look: Tivoli, City Hall square, the old town, Christiansborg…

From my side I had a very nice view, too. Photographed against the sun looks a bit dramatic:

Amagerværket power plant:

A selfie in the sky:

Nice tour, we could fly forever…
