When I flew trike with Henrik last time, I saw this beautiful Kitfox in their hangar. I love taildraggers, so I asked Henrik whether he could arrange a flight for me – and he did. He put me in contact with Anders, the owner of this yellow bird, and we agreed to meet on an evening after work.
Henrik was also there, practising paraglider ground handling together with Carsten.
Soon Boye and Troels landed in Troels’ Savannah.
We had a dinner break together. It was a lovely warm evening, and it was very nice to spend it at the flying club.
Anders did the pre-flight check, I watched and asked questions.
We complained that the grass was too high, and Henrik did a couple of rounds in a lawn mover.
Anders and I took off and decided to have a look at the Kronborg Castle.
The air was calm and smooth, it was a real pleasure flight.
We spotted an aircraft on the Technical museum’ grounds:
Otherwise just enjoyed the sunshine, and flew around.
Did a couple of rounds over the Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød:
The picturesque gardens of the castle, with the royal monograms for Frederik IV, Frederik V, Christian VI and Margrethe II – the four monarchs, under whom the castle and gardens have existed:
On landing on their ultra-short runway of about 200 metres:
Meanwhile, Carsten and Henrik were preparing for a trike sunset flight:
We wished them a nice flight, before leaving the club. We all enjoyed this spontaneous get-together, and had fun – pilots always do! And I really liked the Kitfox – what a great aircraft! Many thanks to Andres for the introduction!
