Zonen flylaug meeting in Holbæk flying club

by Natalie Kjaergaard

Zonen flylaug is an association with the purpose of care, maintenance, and flying one of the very famous historic aircraft in Denmark – Zonen OY-DYZ. All members are volunteers, and our meeting last week was held in Holbæk flying club. The evening started from a dinner in Kenneth’s hangar:

The old black phone on the table was donated by Michael Bo Jensen. It was a phone from his family, and in a working condition.

It was very nice to see all these wonderful people again. We just talked about life, aeroplanes, Zonen and our future plans with the association.

The grill was set outside where we could prepare our meals. It was a quite windy day, so we didn’t fly. But we had a very good time in a company of historic aircraft:

After the dinner we moved to the flying club’s house where we had our meeting, coffee and cakes:

We had a couple of guests: Keld Grinder-Hansen, director of the Andelsbyen Nyvang, where our association is based; and Frederik Madsen, the chairman of the board from Zone-Redningskorpsets Venner (Friends of the Zone Rescue Corps). Keld spoke about visions for future Nyvang, and we had a good dialog about our role in it. And with Frederik, we discussed future activities, and practical things.

Though we didn’t fly, we enjoyed this evening together very much.

You can meet us on the 2nd September 2018 in Andelslandsbyen Nyvang at veteran aircraft fly-in (PPR).
