OY-9797, first flying trip. Island of Sejerø

On my first flight in OY-9797 I wanted to go to one of my favourite places – Sejerø. I brought a bottle of rosé sparkling to Jørgen, the owner of the airstrip, and asked him to celebrate my new aircraft:

Sejerø is a relatively small island in the Kattegat sea, and I love coming there. No bikes to hire, no fly-ins, short runway – and you almost have the island for yourself. It is very simple and idyllic one, with fearless deer jumping around, oceans of wild flowers, endless white sand beaches, rich bird life, and amazing views.

We flew together with Flemming, and looked forward to have some quiet and relaxing hours there:

The village of Sejerby – the main one on the island – with the church in the middle:

We flew north and did a round over the light house – later we would sit there on the steep hill and enjoy the views:

I landed on Sejerø from the first time, without my usual go-around there. After a short chat with Jørgen we went for a walk towards the light house. Flemming by the clock from the New York’s Central Station:

One can see the light house from a long distance. It is open for public a couple of days in July, and also on an open island day in August – very interesting to visit:

We sat down by the light house on the cliff, and had our dinner there. Flemming watched birds, I took pictures.

An occasional small wave would break on the shore:

Many trees were blooming to their fullest:

We took off before the sunset. Probably the last ferry from the island:

And the sunset was stunning that evening:

We waited till its last moment, before flying back home to Holbæk.
