On the 6th August Söderslätts flying club had an Open House event.
I flew in together with Vagn. We got a warm welcome, and parked by the side of a beautiful SAAB S.91 Safir from 1959 (far right):
Safir (English: sapphire) was used primarily by the Swedish Airforce as a trainer. 323 units were produced during 1946-1966.
The weather was perfect for such an occasion, and different aircraft were participating.

There were many visitors, and the interest for flying was huge:
Visitors could buy a flight in an available aircraft of their choice:

And we met Michael – a Dane who lives in Sweden and is also a pilot, though more experienced than we are. We had a good chat, exchanged phone numbers, and hope to meet again soon at one or another fly-in. On the photo below Vagn is having a coffee with Michael:
We met many nice people there, the atmosphere was great; and after a couple of hours it was time to leave:
We did a round over Skanör-Falsterbo, Swedish Riviera. It is a fishtail-shaped peninsula at the very south-western tip of Sweden. White-sand beaches, high dunes, pine trees. It is a very beautiful area to visit:
The Light House on the photo below. It was built in 1793-96 and the light was a coal fire at the top. Every year on the last Sunday of August it is “Lighthouse Day” when the lighthouse is open to the public.
Skanör harbour is also a very nice place. There is a smoke house that makes delicious smoked fish. I always eat there when in Skanör.
Flying over Malmö, we appreciated the view to The Turning Torso and the Øresund bridge that connects Sweden and Denmark:
We continued to Landskrona where we had an ice-cream break and a chat with fellow pilots from the Landskrona flying club:
