Eslöv flying club

by Natalie Kjaergaard

Yesterday my plan was to visit Eslöv flying club in Sweden, and to say hello to fellow pilots in a couple of other flying clubs in Sweden.

My friend Vagn joined me:

and headed for the breathtaking Kullaberg first:

After landing in Höganäs flying club we enjoyed afternoon sun and a company of other pilots there. Suddenly we noticed 3 gliders circling over the airfield. Soon they landed, and what a surprise – pilots from Germany on a summer trip to Sweden!

Höganäs harbour from 1000 feet:

Our next stop was Landskrona flying club (ESML) where we had a short chat with the pilots. On the photo below two ASK21 that are often used for training. I also learned gliding in this type of aircraft.

Before heading for Eslöv, we did a landing on Kågeröd-Simmelsberga airfield (ESMJ), just for the fun of it. It is a privately owned aerodrome established in 1951. They have some unique veteran tractors, but unfortunately we didn’t have the time to see them.

And finally Eslöv flying club (ESME) – our destination. During summer time there is a fly-in every Thursday, and many people are coming, not only by air. One can see many different types of aircraft flying and on display, parachute jumpers from Skydive Syd, and meet many interesting people. We were warm welcomed, and appreciated this nice evening together with other guests.Skydive Syd charters the aircraft on the photo below from Germany for the summer period. It is a Cessna Grand Caravan from 1998.

This Fairchild UC-61A Argus II from 1943 got lots of attention. The owner was happy to answer the questions, and to show the aircraft.

And of course, the food. The barbecue was excellent!

Home-made cakes:

Filip was very interested in our aircraft, and certainly he got permission to experience it:

Unfortunately it was time to leave. The city of Landskrona on our way back home to Denmark:

Great experience, and we will definitely come back soon!
