On Saturday 15th December Zonen Flylaug met in Andelslandsbyen Nyvang for a traditional Christmas lunch:
Zonen Flylaug is an association of volunteers who restore, maintain and fly OY-DYZ – a Danish designed and built KZ III from 1946. OY-DYZ was one of the four ambulance aircraft operating under the Zone Rescue Corps from 1939 till 1963.
The KZ III ambulance aircraft were able to land on almost all Danish small islands and the Zone Rescue Corps also used the aircraft for purposes other than ambulance flights.
During a break most of us went to see our aircraft in the hangar. Peter prepared a sign “Zonefly Hangar” for our bike:

First snow (on the bench; photo below) that came the night before and stayed in few places. The yellow building on the far left is the old car service company.
It is a home to some vintage cars that are exhibited during Andelslandsbyen Nyvang opening hours. We hanged out there a bit, before continuing to our Christmas lunch.
Rikke prepared ris a la mande with a cherry sauce – traditional desert. Normally a whole almond is added to the dish, and a person who finds it wins a prize.
Peter was the lucky winner this year – a bottle of a special Christmas edition Belgian beer:
Zonen Flylaug is a part of the Zone Rescue Corps association and museum. Frederik Madsen, the chairman of the association, had a speech where he expressed gratitude for our efforts in keeping the OY-DYZ flying and contribution to both Zone Rescue Corps and Andelslandsbyen Nyvang associations. Each of our members received a gift – a book about the history of the Zone Rescue Corps Air Services.
We were thankful for such an interesting for us all present. It was a very nice day together that we enjoyed very much.
