Flying during winter time in Denmark can be breathtaking!
Last week we had a couple of days with beautiful winter weather. Sunny, a bit cold, and with some snow. Our winters are not very cold, but flying can be a freezing experience. Personally, I make good use of feet- and hand warmers I buy in Germany from a company called Thermopad. I would very likely freeze to death without them 🙂
This is how our apron looked like on the 11th of February 2017:
That day I had to abandon my flying plans in a fixed-wing, but had a wonderful day flying with Carsten in his gyro. A couple of days later Thore helped to clean the apron of snow, so that I could get our A22 out of hangar and go flying.
And it was a great fun to work and play with the snow.
Other members of our club were also out to enjoy the local beauty of our planet:
When I have a chance, I always come by North Zealand’s gliding club (EKGL) to say hello from the air:
A short break in Holbæk flying club (EKHK):
I was flying for about 4 hours that day – so enjoyable it was. At sunset time flying is special: the colours change, they become more soft (and it gets colder), and the views are magnificent:
