UK tour: Fowlmere to Odense

by Natalie Kjaergaard

Anne and I took off from the Fowlmere airfield, EGMA, on Sunday morning. I was fascinated by these beautiful cumulus clouds embedded in an inversion layer, like icebergs in the ocean:

We waived goodbye to the British coast, and headed across the Strait of Dover towards France:

Soon we were handed over to the Belgian air traffic controllers:

Oostende-Brygge international airport on our way:

The harbour area in Ostend, Belgium:

The Zwin inlet on the Belgian-Dutch border:

A funny small rectangular forest with a house inside:

Dutch villages reminded me of the same type of villages I saw in Poland:

Houses would be along the road, with long and narrow stripes of fields going from the houses and away from the villages…

We had a stopover at the Lelystad airport in the Netherlands, EHLE, where we refueled, and had lunch.

I took a photo of Anne in front of the Lelystad Tower that is so dramatically painted in red and white – it was very easy to spot from a distance. Lelystad airport has an excellent restaurant with the view to the runway, delicious food, and attentive service.

Leer, a German town on the river Leda near the the border with the Netherlands:

And soon we flew over the island of Funen in Denmark:

Landing in Odense, our destination:

Many thanks to Anne for the great company during our tour!
