I had bought an external antenna for my Garmin G5, but installation required lots of hardware, and it took time to get all that stuff shipped, especially coaxial cable RG400.
Lars and I began from identifying the best place for the antenna. The difference between using the instrument with or without the external antenna was huge (it also should – when you pay 400 EUR for the antenna).
Whilst I was waiting for the coaxial cable to be delivered (which took one week), Lars devised a mounting solution:
And when the right antenna position was found, we were ready:

After a couple of try-and-error attempts we decided to wait for the next day, and to buy a special stripping pliers tool for coaxial cable (and a couple of connectors, just in case):

I had received two sets of new carb floats from Rotax (because my old left set had drowned, and I was flying on a set I borrowed from Anders, my club mate); so the floats needed to be replaced. My right set seemed to be ok, though the engine sometimes was running rough, but their weight was far exceeding the max 7.0, and it was just a matter of time when they would go down, too:

All the work was finished, and my Aeroprakt was ready for the new adventures, whenever a chance would come:
Many thanks to Lars for his great help! Mounting of the external antenna showed up to be more difficult than I expected, and without Lars it would have taken ages for me to find out how to do all that work.
