To take this photo on the island of Sylt today I had to work really hard this week. Taking two days off a busy calendar at the end of the year costed long working hours, but it was worth it!
I love Frisian islands, and Sylt was on my wish list for a (too) long time. I succeeded in persuading Vagn that it was a good idea to go, and Friday morning we took off:
The weather was beautiful, and there was a very sharp inversion layer:
It is always magnificent to fly over the Wadden sea, though when the air is misty, as it was today, the views are not that clear:
EDXW, the airport on Sylt, welcomed us to the island:
Left base to RWY14:
The western coastline of Sylt when turning on final:
The air was very smooth, and the landing went without any challenges:
GA parking at EDXW:
We rented this BMW from the SIXT – they were kind to pick us up from the GA airport (nice service!):
The first thing we did – we drove straight to the beach. The beach was enormous…
The views were spectacular.
We reached a quick soup in a cafe before going for the sunset. Many people were on the beach enjoying the view.
This seagull was used to posing for photos:
Vagn had to try walking on the stones:
We adored this wonderful afternoon on Sylt.
After spending some time on the beach, feeling grateful for these divine experiences nature gave to us, we went for crêpes with the sea view.
