It is a tradition in Undløse flying club to get together for Christmas gløgg. I managed to come earlier, and took off for a local pleasure flight with Vagn.
Over Ellinge Lyng with the view to the Sejerø Bay:
We spotted this nice property on the photo below – it would be a perfect place to have a flying club there. A couple of runways, gliders and trikes friendly, a helipad. Lots of hangar space… A hotel and tent camping… Gourmet restaurant and a cafe in the manor house, recreational bikini-only area by the lake… It’s ok to dream! 🙂
The city of Holbæk:
Flying over the Boye’s farm, we saw a trike near the hangar (blue arrow). We did a couple of rounds, and wondered whether it was Henrik. We heard Boye on the radio that day – he was out flying his Bingo, an ultralight aircraft. Boye’s runway (yellow stippled line) is quite short (150 m?). I landed there once, with Thore who landed our aircraft – you need to be very experienced to do that.
It was time to go back to Kræmmersten – the guests were about to come. We did a couple of photo-rounds (and one missed approach), and saw that Boye’s Bingo was already there:
We landed on Vagn’s favourite runway preceded by tall trees, power wires, and windmills:
And soon Thomas also arrived (it was his trike we saw at Boye’s). He landed on my favourite runway. There are also tall trees, but the landing distance available is longer (200-250 m?).
There wasn’t much hangar talk that day – it was cold, and gløgg with æbleskiver were waiting.
Helge and Vagn tastefully decorated our club house for the event with a Christmas tablecloth, I brought a small plastic Christmas tree and a Santa Claus toy made of plush fabric, and the atmosphere was cheerful:
Vagn was serving gløgg:
And there were plenty of æbleskiver (traditional Danish pastry for gløgg):
And while we were waiting for æbleskiver, Henrik was bragging about his old headset he uses when flying trike (I used the same when I flew trike with Henrik – it worked fine). Boye and Thomas looked a bit surprised (or jealous?):
We kept Vagn busy opening one bottle of gløgg after another, and warming it up. It was his own fault – he bought the very best one!
Boye and Thomas had to leave before it became dark, but we others were having a good time. I had to do some work – therefore sitting with my laptop. With Henrik, Allan, Thore, Jens, Peter, Helge, and Bent:
We had a great get-together, as always! Many thanks to Vagn for organising!
