It was -8C when I reached my flying club in Holbæk on an early morning in December.
The sun was getting over the horizon, and the moon was going down. It was full moon, a big one, quite spectacular. Kenneth just came back from his morning flight:
When I took off, beautiful snowy landscapes were everywhere.
My intention was to practice landings, turns and all that stuff, but the first hour I just flew around and enjoyed all those magnificent views.
The weather was perfect, and many of my club mates were also in the air.
I love winter flying when it’s cold. And especially when there is snow…
Hørby and its harbour:
I had 5 flights that day, took breaks and took off again.
It was so nice to see the light changing during the day. The shadows were getting longer, and the light – softer.
The city of Holbæk under the snow:
I was very tempted to see the sunset from air, but I needed to refuel, and most importantly – to get my OY-9797 into the hangar. I knew, I wouldn’t be able to do it alone because of snow.
So I landed, refuelled and, waiting for other pilots to land, adored the rising full moon. Soon Allan was there, and he kindly helped me with my Aeroprakt.
What a wonderful day it was!
