It was about time to get a training flight. The weather today was perfect for the occasion: shower rains, sunshine, wind from the “wrong” direction, gusts, turbulence… Yet still within the operational limitations of the aircraft I flew.
Take-off from Måløv, my home airfield, gave some strange thoughts, like “if there was that much turbulence on take-off, how bad is it going to be on landing?” I did two take-offs and two landings in Måløv later, at different times of the day. It didn’t help – they all were scary but manageable.
On one side of the aircraft were low black clouds, on the other one – sunshine. You can see the wind direction on the water:
Any glider pilot would be dreaming of going under these beautiful clouds. I saw one enjoying the strong thermals near Kalundborg.
After a stop in Holbæk I headed west. The visibility was very good, I just had to respect the wind.
A quick hello in Gørlev followed by a couple of landings on private airfields where I have permission to land.
Beautiful forests… Soon they will turn autumn colours…
It was getting darker, and sometimes the sun was shining brightly through the clouds, like on the photo below.
Nothing makes me happier than flying. I didn’t take many pictures this time due to weather conditions, and a selfie of a happy pilot was a must:
