Flemming and I prepared to leave Konstanz where we had such a nice Easter.
The weather forecast was good, but we were quite surprised by the mist even at low altitude – it was Saharan dust:
I once experienced Saharan dust in the Middle East – it wasn’t fun, especially when you think of your own health. Here in Germany, it was ok, not that bad.
The first flight of that day was to Jena, a city known for its Optical museum and Zeiss Planetarium:
It was a boring flight – compared to the castle-route we experienced when we flew to Konstanz!
In Jena, we refuelled and had a break which we used to decide on our next flight.
It looked like the weather was going to be nice in Lubeck over the next couple of days, and we headed there.
It was again a boring flight, and we tried our best to entertain ourselves with observing the constraction sites and small villages.
We finally were close to Lubeck, and looked forward to spend time in that charming Hanseatic city.
A short bus ride to the town, where the magnificent Holstentor welcomed us in:
Our hotel was just by the side of Holstentor, and we did a little walk by the Trave river whilst it was still light:
In the hotel, after checking in, we went down to the bar. Looking at the weather required a drink:
The next day, the weather wasn’t going to be good (according to the prognosis), but after 2 nights in Lubeck it was going to change to the better. Flemming and I looked so much forward to spend good time in the town, and to relax in the hotel’s swimming pool.
For dinner, we went to the Lubeck’s famous Schiffergesellschaft – traditional restaurant with good food and historical ambience. It was very peaceful on the streets of Lübeck, and I could even remember the way.
The restaurant was full, as always, and we got a table – as always!
Both Flemming and I were a bit hungry after a long flying day, and we really enjoyed the hearty German food (and wine!):
We were so tired that we couldn’t drink more than one glass of wine (which was also enough), and went for a longer walk after the dinner. It was a beautiful evening – calm, warm, with lots of lights all over the city.
Our hotel in the night light, and with reflections in Trave river:
It was very pleasant to relax in the bathtab in our hotel room afterwards. My tired and dirty feet loved it:
We could sleep long and not bother about anything.
