Yesterday it was our pleasure to visit Lolland-Falster’s flying club located in EKMB.
The event was organized together with the Ringsted flying club, and we all were supposed to fly to EKMB, but the weather was against us. Dense fog, vv001 at its best. The fly-in event turned out to be drive-in.
After a warm welcome at Lolland-Falster’s flying club we moved to the newly opened airport cafe Casa Maria where we enjoyed delicious Danish lunch.
Casa Maria is a nice and light place with big windows overlooking the aerodrome, and tastefully decorated walls. The Chipmunk in the middle can often be seen live on different airshows.
In our programme there was a visit to the Femern A/S Information Centre in Rødby. We learned many interesting facts about the world’s longest immersed tunnel that is going to be built between Denmark and Germany. Visit their website – it is truly fascinating!
The project is enormous, and there are so many interesting details, like temporarily moving frogs from one area to another in order to protect them 🙂
Time went quickly, and after the lecture we were invited back to Casa Maria for a coffee and cakes.
It was a very nice event where pilots from different clubs attended, and time well spent together. Thank you to Thore for inviting me!
