I was so happy when I saw the weather was good for flying. “Let’s go!” I said to Flemming, and naturally there were no objectives. We cancelled our appointments and headed to my flying club in Holbæk.
It looked like the air was more clear in the northeast, and we flew over Rørvig, a small town very popular during summer time:
Over to Hundested, another small town just on the other side of Isefjord:
Flemming and I kept an eye on the weather development – a front was upproaching from the southwest. It was first going to reach Holbæk later in the evening, but you never know with those fronts:
In the opposite direction, the weather was very nice. After checking out some towns and harbours of the northern coast of Zealand, we evebtually reached Helsingør:
It is a very nice city, well-known for its Krinborg Castle, and with a ferry connection to Helsingborg in Sweden.
Kronborg Castle was used by William Shakespeare as a setting for his play “Hamlet, Prince of Denmark”, though Hamlet never visited Kronborg. The Castle was built in the 15th century, but Hamlet lived in the 5th (according to a legend documented in the 12th century).
You can read about the legend of Hamlet and Feggerklit in this blogpost.
After a couple of hours flying it was time to go home:
Flemming and I were so glad to have a flight. It was probably the last one this year.
