I was so happy Paul offered me to buy his hangar place in Holbæk flying club! My new ownership called for a celebration, and I invited all from the hangar for lunch, and of course Danaero – they have been by my side since I ordered my Aeroprakt, helping with all questions that arise when you become an aircarft owner.
We met last Sunday, and the air temperature was +31C. It woud have been really nice to sit in the hangar – it was cooler there, but a warning of thunderstorms and rain showers made me decide the most practical would be to have the lunch party in our club house (so that we wouldn’t have to wait for a potential rain to stop in order to have desert!). Our small and cozy club house from air:
I arrived early, and used the morning time to work on my new NAWICO product – fuel tank covers. On my last trip to Stralsund, I experienced that fuel was leaking over a fuel tank when my OY-9797 was left parked in direct sunlight. In warm weather, fuel expands. I even know a pilot whose aircraft’ fuel tanks got deformed being in hot weather. I sew full-wing covers for him after that. Since my own experience, I was thinking of an easy solution – very light covers that would only be used on fuel tanks.
I did the design, and just needed some additional measurements.
It is always exciting to create something new! A prototype will soon be ready, and then a new product that is going to be very useful during the hot summer days!
Meanwhile, Flemming was helping me in the kitchen, preparing all the food:
Soon the guests arrived. Some brought gifts, it was very kind of them – bubbles, chocolate, sweets, beer, even a complete set with a fresh orange to make Aperol Spritz drinks! It is always very touching, to get presents when you don’t expect any. Not everybody from my new hangar was able to attend, but we had a very good company:
Flemming served us delicious traditional Danish lunch:
We enjoyed the food, and most importantly – each others company. It was good to catch up, and have the time to be together.
When the party was over, it was my turn to be in the kitchen and do the dishes (I got help!):
Later, I flew my drone and did some selfies by my hangar:
