Flying destination often depends on the weather. You have to be very flexible, yet well-prepared in order to quickly take the right decision. Last Sunday I wanted to go to Sweden, but after an in-depth review of the weather forecast together with Lars, my co-pilot, we came to the conclusion that the best way to go would be south. Thus, we headed for Femø island.
Concentration in the cockpit…
The beautiful surroundings of Næstved:
Overflying Femø. The island has 2 villages with around 130 people permanently living there.
Landing on Femø is fascinating…
The trees on the left caused lots of turbulence:
Very nice surprise: fellow pilots from another club. From left to right: Ole, Kaj, Henrik.
We got inspired and ordered the same – delicious apple desert made from apples from the island:
The weather turned out to be much nicer than it was predicted, and flying back home was even more enjoyable:
And here is the reason why I invite Lars to fly with me – he is so thorough in cleaning! 🙂
Just kidding… Lars is a very experienced pilot, and every single time we fly together, he is challenging me with different tasks. Short landing, very short landing, take-off in tailwind, landing without using flaps, landing in crosswind with gusts, you name it. That makes flying more fun.
Beautiful flying day…
P. S. That was the last time I saw Ole and Henrik. They died in a fatal plane crash on the 16th October 2017. Memories of them will live in our hearts.
