Before going on a night flight with Kim, Sandie and I flew my drone – it was a good start of the afternoon:
In Roskilde, we waited for the darkness to fall over us:
And when it was time, we onboarded Kim’s Cessna, and taxiing out to the runway:
Run up, Take off, and the airport quickly disappeared in the dark:
We reached Copenhagen, and oceans of light were beneath us:
City Hall square and Tivoli Gardens:
We decided to go and see how Kastrup airport looks like at night time. After getting permission, we flew over a couple of times:
Parked aircraft looked sleeping:
And then back to circling over Copenhagen:
Though it looked endless with all those beautiful lights, Copenhagen is still a relatively small city from air:
So eventually we got enough, and turned back to Roskilde. Kim did a perfect landing – we even didn’t notice the touch down!
The runways were covered in 3 mm ice, and there was also snow:
We refuelled – a couple of my friends were going for a flight after us:
Many thanks to Kim for these wonderful experiences!
The apron was so icy, Sandie and I were afraid to move. But when we found the balance, we asked Kim to take a photo of us – two very happy passengers:
