Skaiste and I were going to Ærø island! The weather was so warm and nice – it was simply perfect for an island trip.
We enjoyed the nice views on our way, with big and small islands here and there… Storeholm, an uninhabited 2 m high salt marsh west of Ristinge Klint in the south of Langeland island:
Skaise and I were so happy going on a flight trip together! We looked forward to spend some hours on Ærø.
Ærø has a good runway. It’s a little bumpy, but otherwise fine:
Skaiste in front of the “formal” gate to the airport:
We took the bikes – and they were excellent!
For Skaiste, it was first time on the island, and I proposed to go to Ærøskøbing.
In front of the house where I stayed in June this year, on a weekend tour:
A short stop by the harbour:
Skaiste and I had our dinner at the Smokehouse, where they always have a wide range of smoked fish:
All fish is imported – there is not much to catch in the waters around the island any longer…
We didn’t have lots of time, but I manged to show Skaiste a couple of the most known houses of Ærø:
This door is simply a treasure:
We walked through the town before biking back to the airport, and admired all those well-preserved beautiful old houses of Ærøskøbing:
The flight back took around an hour:
Skaiste and I were so lucky to see the sunset from air:
We landed within the civil twilight time. The moon was on the rise, and it was getting dark quickly.
I always get so much happiness after an evening flight and I greatly appreciate the chance given…
