We’d had some days with air temperatures around +30C, and it was tough. Luckily, Lars and I had an agreement to do some work on my aircraft, and in that unbearable heat we actually looked forward to work in the hangar where it was a bit cooler.
I met up early – to get ready and to fly my drone – and pilots of the visiting aircraft that landed in my flying club in Holbæk for refuelling told me the air was extremely misty.
I had bought a new instrument – Garmin G5, and Lars kindly agreed to help installing it. We booked 4 days for that work, because we didn’t know how long time it would take, and what surprised might arise along the way.
Lars is always well-prepared, and brings lots of useful stuff I don’t have (yet):
Aeroprakt is actually a nicely built aircraft. They had thought that pilots might want to do changes, and how to help them to do it as easy as possible. Isn’t it beautiful:

After Lars and I finished all calibrations and tests on the ground, we took off for an in-flight test.
The air was warm and humid, but above 500 feet it wasn’t as turbulent as were thought it would be. My new Garmin G5 functioned properly, all the readings were fine:
Lars was satisfied with the work done, and it only took 1.5 days, around 8-9 hours in total!
I have been so grateful to Lars, for the time and work he put in, and for his deep knowledge he generously shares. We also need to mount an external antenna I bought for my Garmin G5, but that can be done later.
