It was rainy and windy in Denmark, but it was going to get better in the evening. Flemming and I got half a day more in Schwerin! It was nice not to hurry up, and to take it easy. In Schwering, the weather was fine, it was also much warmer.
We used our time for lazy walks and doing nothing 🙂 Lunch in the sunshine was very pleasant:
A little bit of window shopping (we didn’t want to carry anything with us). This shop was quite special, selling local delicacies, and the staff was dressed in kind of old costumes:
We had asked our hotel to pre-book a taxi for us, but it showed up pre-booking wasn’t possible – the taxi won’t commit to any specific time. Call us when you need it, and we will come if we can. During our taxi ride to the airport, the taxi driver would receive a call, and if it was in English, he would simply hang up – because he didn’t understand 🙂
In Pinnow airport, they were flying gliders that day.
There was even a tower, where we paid our expenses:
Flemming was very tempted to take a glider flight, but we didn’t have the time for that.
We took off and flew by Schwerin and its Castle:
The Castle was as beautiful from the air, as from the ground:
Our flight was easy, there were almost no other aircraft in the air:
I took this picture of the left fairing, because it got dirty with all those insects so quickly!
Fehmarn with the white sand beaches of Südstrand:
Going home after such a wonderful vacation wasn’t easy – we would rather travel longer, but we were happy.
Soon Holbæk aerodrome was in sight:
Nobody was at the flying club.
Flemming did his job:
I did mine. I had to take all my available clothes on, because it was getting cold:
The OY-9797 was put into its hangar; it served us so well during the tour!
Driving from the flying club, we catched the last glimpse of the sunset:
Our flying vacation was finished. I’m going to write a short summary in my next blogpost.
