The weather took a small break between the fronts with snow and thunders, and I hurried to my flying club.
Nice surprise – Lars in his Faeta was on a visit. We haven’t seen each other for ages, and it was good to meet again.
Show and rain was promised for the next 10 days. First spring flowers had otherwise began to pop up:
I taxied on our runway, splashing water for the first time – but only in the beginning of the runway 10. It has become more wet since my last flight for about 2 weeks ago, and I kept to the southern part of the runway where it was more dry (or less wet shall I say?).
When in the air, I noticed how much snow was still left after the last night:

Long and thick cloud “streets” were everywhere, with low cloud base and high cloud top, and with cumulonimbus. I didn’t want to fly under them and tried to stay away, which wasn’t always easy.
At winter time, you see many small lakes in the forests and other interesting things:
After zigzagging between those cloud “streets”, I headed to Kronborg Castle, had a quick look and turned back – snow was on the way:
I wanted to check out how the Gørløse runway looked like, and had difficulties locating it. When I finally found it, what a sight it was… Water everywhere:
I hoped to watch the sunset from air, but could see the front on the west. It didn’t move, but I thought it could get dark and colder very quickly, and stayed close to my home airfield. The sun went down behind the clouds 30 min earlier (than the sunset time was), and I went for landing whilst it was still light.
My flight that day looked as follows:
The Aviator and The Blue Bear were very happy I took them with me:
I landed carefully, with 2 flaps and 40 kts, 5 kts lower than I’d normally do. The stall speed of AP22 is 32 kts with full flaps. My landing was very gentle, and I was happy about it.
Now we at EKHK have sent NOTAM out – PPR due to the wet runway. Make sure you talk to someone from our flying club first, if you decide to land.
