The association of The Danish Aviators has many members that do extraordinary things – either in their work or free time, or both. Each January we meet one or several of them in the Frederiksberg Palace, our meeting venue, and hear their stories. This time the theme was defence from and fighting of drones. We were promised an exciting evening in a company of Christian Steinø, a former F-16 pilot and the founder of MyDefence, an anti-drone and counter drone technology company.
Søren (right), our chairman, and Karsten (left), the general secretary, welcomed us:
Around 100 members signed up for the event.
We began from a dinner together – it also gives a good chance to catch up with the latest news, meet new members and old friends, and just socialise. Thomas, my club mate from the Roskilde flying club:
With Steen, my club mate from the Albatros flying club:
After the delicious dinner we moved to the Palace. Jan-Erik and Michael, waving to me, among our other happy members:
I love Frederiksberg Palace for its beauty and rich history. We always get one or another ravishing hall room for our meetings. Look at that ceiling:
And some ceiling details with a closer look:
One can never stop admiring all that stunning work…
Christian kept us entertained with his stories for two hours! Even during the break and after the lecture, many came up with questions. Christian told us many interesting facts about drones and their types, showed lots of videos, presented with research and statistics. In the end, Søren thanked him from all of us:
Christian, leaving our company, on his way to making even more sophisticated drone defence systems:
We were grateful to Christian for taking the time to speak to us about his passion, and to our board for organising the event. One more wonderful evening with Danske Flyvere…
