A short walk by the marina towards the end of the village – and we had a nice small beach:
Flemming and I used to go there every morning and every evening during our stay in Mali Loshinj. I swam, and he would practice his yoga:
It was very nice to stay by the marina and have this lovely view of Mali Losinj:
Every morning, after swimming, we’d go to the local fish market to buy some fresh catch:
The choice was enourmous, and it was difficult to limit yourself:
We used to buy from one family, who kindly allowed me to take a photo:
Our plan for the day was to go on a light hiking around, and of course beach. On the streets of our town:
We started from the Čikat park, which was a jungle forest with walking paths. Millions of cicadas were making large noise:
Eventually we made it to the beach Veli Žal:
Flemming found a free shady corner for us, where it was also possible to get in and out of the water:
We brought lots of wonderful fruit with us, like gigantic figs of 250 g each, sweet and juicy. The fruit in Mali Losinj were of such an excellent quality – I couln’t get enough of them.
On our walk back home, Flemming befriended a stray cat who didn’t even want to move in that heat, but appreciated our attention:
Gorgeous blooming trees were everywhere – we had no idea how all those flowers could survive there:
For dinner, Flemming made some deliscious veggies and grilled the seafood in our garden.
My role was to get champagne – I bought a Slovenian one (couldn’t find Croatian), and it tasted really good.
We didn’t think we could eat that much of seafood, but we managed with no problems. Flemming had marinated the seafood with herbs, garlic and good quality Croatian olive oil before grilling – we simply loved it.
The rest of the evening was spent on our terrace. We enjoyed the rustic view, and the pleasant night temperature:
