During these warm summer days it is so nice to fly to one or another island! Especially in June, when the days are long, and it is easier to reach a flight after work.
Flemming and I decided to fly to Bjørnø (the Bear island) – a 1.5 km2 small island south of Faaborg.
We looked forward to go for a swim, and to spend some quality time on the beach.
Bjørnø has a good grass airstrip which is said to be the most hilly one in Denmark. For an ultralight aircraft, it is not a problem at all, but for other aircraft types can be. Landing on runway 11:
Flemming tied down my Aeroprakt – we just bought a new tie-down set, and wanted to test it:
Charming gardens of the island:
We started from the harbour, where one can take a small boat to/from Faaborg.
I had the time to fly my drone:
And then – swimming:
The water was surprisingly warm, and we played there for a long time:
Dinner by the sea – we brought our favourite salads and strawberries with dark chocolate for desert:
Flying home, the air was very smooth, and we were lucky to meet a hot air balloon on our way. We flew around it and waived to each others crew/passengers:
In Holbæk flying club, other pilots were also returning home:
The night was coming, but it was still very light:
We had such a lovely evening on Bjørnø – hopefully there going to be many more of them during this summer.
