Friday 20th of July Albatros flying club was having a summer party. The invitation came from Carsten, Thore, Lennart, and Peter, who arranged the event – and I signed up immediately. My friend Anne joined me. With Anne in front of our hangar:
Guests were arriving, and Carsten opened the wine:
Lennart was giving a lesson to Peter on grilling. Well, Lennart is an experienced teacher; he knows all the right methods that work in education:
Thore did chopping of vegetables (photo by Lennart):
The starter was soon served, and we took our places. Carsten welcomed us, and gave more details about the menu:
The delicious food was accompanied by good wines. We also enjoyed meeting together, and having the time to talk.
With Lennart during a break:
We were around 25 people, I think. And the weather was perfect for a get-together.
There was so much food – healthy, mouth-watering, well-prepared, flavourful and colourful. I don’t know how much time the organisers used for all that, but it was a big job, and it was a great job.
Lesley helping in the kitchen:
We had several courses, and I loved every single peace of it.
We welcomed our new member – Frederik. He just had birthday a couple of days before, and turned 14 years old. We sang a birthday song for him. Frederik had already been in our club several times, and got a couple of flying tours with other pilots, have been in the hangars helping around. Frederik’s dream is to become a pilot. We were glad he and his family joined us on that evening.
During breaks we were outside, enjoying this wonderful summer weather. When Frederik (another one) landed from Bornholm, his former instructor Jan wanted to give Frederik some valuable advises. Anne and I couldn’t resist – that was our version of #MeToo:
We all had such a lovely evening; stayed long, and didn’t really want to leave. Many thanks to all for sharing their time, good humor and happiness, and especially to Peter, Lennart, Thore, and Carsten for arranging the event!
