After the working day in my flying club, it was time to go for a flight!
The weather was getting better, and Vagn was also on his way to get airborne:
Flemming and I decided to go to Ærø, a lovely island south of Funnen:
Over Zealand (Eastern part of Denmark) there still were clouds. And the yellow rapeseed fields got even brighter:
Interesting cloud formation over Langeland island:
Soon we reached Ærø and had a look at Marstal town from air:
We landed and parked. It seemed that nobody was at the airport.
It smelled so nicely of blooming flowers!
We got our bikes and headed to Marstal.
The bikes we got were really bad. Mine could only go in first gear! Changing gears didn’t have any effect. Flemming’s bike was a little better…
We enjoyed the beautiful nature and animals on our way:
The alley of dundelions – their yellow flower heads already turned into white balls:
Flemming and I were a bit hungry, and we didn’t have much time, so we biked directly to the harbour to have dinner.
We brought our favourite ready-made salads with us, and were sitting there by the water, watching the ships sail by:
After dinner, we biked around the town aand did some sightseeing.
Biking back to the airport, we often stopped – either to admire the view, to smell the flowers or take pictures:
Flying around Ærø before going home was quite spectacular:
Flemming and I were so glad we reached a nice flight after our good working day in Holbæk flying club.
We did a round over Ærøskøbing, and had a look at the house we rented for a long weekend next month:
I booked that house in January (!). The hotel I wanted to stay in was already sold out… On Ærø, you need to book early, if you don’t want to stay in a tent.
A peaceful night was on its way, with colours changing as we flew home:
Even a short trip can give lots of energy and so much pleasure!
