Sunset & moonrise

by Natalie Kjaergaard

I couldn’t miss that chance to get airborne – it was cold and sunny, and I could probably see the sunset from air!

Over Zealand (Sjælland in Danish; it is a part of Denmark where I live, the biggest island in Denmark!) the weather was very nice.

I just flew around and enjoyed 🙂

Gørløse aerodrome – the place where I learned flying gliders many years ago – there was much water on the airfield:

I continued to Helsingør that looked so beautiful in the afternoon sunlight:

A close look at the Kronborg Castle:

The Aviator and The Blue Bear shared my happiness:

Flying over Hillerød, I spottet the new hospital being built:

And, of course, took some pictures of the Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød:

The air was cold and clear, and it was nice to just fly around.

Soon the sun was setting down, offering magnificent views:

After getting enough of the sunset, I landed and quickly washed my OY-9797. It was becoming darker, and the moon was already high on the horizon:

I had 3 flights that day. It wouldn’t be responsible to fly long because of the low cloud base, but luckily over Zealand the skies were clear. I would land when I couldn’t cope with the cold any longer, run to the club house and put my white frozen fingers under the hot water. After some time they would become dark blue, and then I ran back to my Aeroprakt (to get warmth!), and took off again 🙂

It was a wonderful day. When the weather is that bad, you are very happy to just have a flight.
