Summer tour 2024. Day 7: Boat tour, Alsace food, and more Colmar

by Natalie Kjaergaard

I pursuaded Flemming to go on a boat tour in the afternoon. It was our last full day in Colmar, and it was a hot one. Being closer to the water would be very pleasant, was my selling point.

We spent the cooler morning (+25C) for walking around the town. An interesting bulding attracted our attention, and we learned, it was La Bourse aux vins de Colmar:

The Colmar Wine Exchange, one of the oldest institutions in the wine-making, was established in 1922. Today, there is a restaurant La Maison des Têtes.

Eventually, we made our way to the boat departure point in La Petite Venise:

This area developed in the Middle Ages as a market gardening area.

Flemming and I boarded our boat and went on a relaxing tour on Lauch river:

We had booked a table in this restaurant for dinner that night:

The hearty Alsace meal was very tasty:

Fantastic, that all those half-timbered buildings survied, and we can appreciate them today:

I once stayed in one of these houses on this street on my previous visit to Colmar:

Good night, Colmar!
