Beaune had a wide range of cafes and restaurants. Flemming and I slept long, and our breakfast around 11 a.m. was very practical – most people finished their breakfast long time ago, and the lunch time hasn’t yet begun.
That day we were going to Château de Savigny, to see their aeroplanes museum. We started from the beginning 🙂 which was a smaller palace with rooms and interior.

The Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune, built in 1340 and renovated in the 17th century, is a listed historic monument. This former fortress now houses some unusual collections.
The château and its outbuildings house 30 prototype Abarth racing cars:
We continued from one hall to another one.
There were over 200 motorbike models dating from 1903 to 1960. The yellow one on the photo below is Harley Davidson:

There were also halls with approx. 7,000 scale models…
But we came there to see the aeroplanes.
The Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune houses the largest collection of fighter planes in the world. Nearly 100 fighter planes brought from all over the world are exhibited in the Château park, including 4 Patrouille De France planes, 11 MIGs and 17 Dassaults.

It was very interesting to walk around all those aeroplanes, but unfortunately the information about exhibited models was almost non-existing.
It was possible to go wine tasting, but we didn’t want to drink.
Flemming and I got back to Beaune and used our evening to prepare for the next destination.
