Our taxi arrived at 7 a.m. as agreed. The taxi driver was a woman, and she had the same first name as mine 🙂 It was a good omen 🙂 10 minutes later we were at the Joigny airport, did the pre-flight check, and took off at 8 a.m.
Flemming and I wanted to cross over all military areas before they would become active.
It was a nice fligt, and we enjoyed it.

We refuelled (they had MoGas!), and parked my OY-9797 “on the grass” – would we ever be able to get it out again??? 🙂
Bus to Dijon, and soon we were walking through the Arc de Triomphe (or Port Guillaume) on Place Darcy:
Originally, the Port Guillaume was one of the main gates of Dijon, since it was the meeting point of the two roads to Paris coming from Troyes and Sens. In the 12th century, the city had 12 of such gates.
Flemming and I were a bit hungry and went to the first nice restaurant we saw – it turned out to be really good. We had snails for starter (we love snais!):

Dijon looked very nice! It was the first visit for both of us.
We checked in to our apartment on Place de la Liberation, right in the heart of Dijon. The apartment was spacious and light, with the bedroom facing a quiet inner yard.
And what a view we had from our living room! To the Palais des Ducs:
We were happy about the place. Dijon also seemed to be a very lively city, and we looked forward to see more of it.
In the evening, we went out for dinner. It was easy – there were lots of restaurants. Many of them were completely booked. We found one we liked, and where there was a table for two, in one of the narrow streets nearby:
It was +30C, and a cold kir helped to cool down a bit 🙂 We tasted local wines, food of the region, and enjoyed our evening.
Later, Flemming and I just relaxed on the square in front of our “home” (red arrow points at our apartment on the top floor):
We loved Dijon already!
