Long weekend in Kołobrzeg. Misty flight home

On my day of departure, the weather wasn’t very nice in the Northern Germany and in Denmark:

But it was going to became good in the afternoon. I spent my waiting time on the Kołobrzeg’s nice beaches:

It was still +28C, and lots of people were enjoying those Indian summer days.

In the afternoon, I went to the airport:

When I parked my OY-9797 there 4 days earlier, I thought “I would never be able to get out of that parking place again” 🙂 because the ground was so soft. But it went very fine, just a little bit more throttle 🙂

I got airborn, and took some pictures of Kołobrzeg from air:

My first flight was to Anklam in Germany, where I was going to wait for a suitable weather to cross over the water to Denmark (the weather in Barth, an airport closer to the border, was LIFR):

The air was quite misty, but otherwise fine:

In Anklam, I refuelled, and waited for a couple of hours. It was very hot and humid, I just stayed in the shadow and monitored the weather.

When I finally took off from Anklam, I was quite uncertain whether I would be able to fly to Denmark at all that day. So I had plan B and plan C. Plan B was to fly further west in Germany and cross over the Fehmarn. Plan C was to land in an airport in Germany and to stay over.

But in the air I became more and more certain it was safe to fly over the water.

Soon I reached Gedser, the southernmost tip of Denmark:

It was much more misty over Falster in Denmark than it was in Germany.

And if you looked to the east – you wouldn’t be able to see the horizon:

The weather became better, as father north towards home I was flying.

Near Holbæk, it was perfectly fine. And there I met Henrik in the air, a pilot from my flying club, in his beautiful KZII:

We did some air-to-air pictures and videos, and it was so much fun:

I was glad I came home, and that the weather was with me. It was nice to spend 4 days in Kołobrzeg, doing nothing, relaxing on the beach – I needed it.
