I left Denmark on a late sunny afternoon, heading for Höganäs in Sweden. Every Tuesday evening during summer time there is an event called Flygfisk in the flying club of Höganäs, a fly-in with fried herring, served in a traditional  Swedish way.

I was the first guest arriving by airplane that day, but there already were other guests that arrived by car or bike. And shortly, other airplanes began landing one after one.

Cozy and lively atmosphere was on the terrace, where guests were having a meal and a good chat.

Members of the flying club were preparing food – grilled sausages and fried herring (local catch). Jan-Eric warmly welcomed me in:

I shared a table with a pilot from Landskrona and his beautiful wife. It was very nice to meet new people, especially friendly women, open for a conversation which not always the case.

Vintage cars were coming to the event too, and some of them were quite special:

Soon Thomas, a friend from my flying club in Holbæk, landed together with his son Mathias. They also wanted to enjoy that summer evening on the Flygfisk terrace.

Later, I walked around and had a look at the vintage cars that were coming and leaving.

And before flying home, I did a round over the Kullaberg nature resort. I’m not tired to repeat that this is my favourite place on Earth:

It was a lovely evening. I was happy that I got to see the old friends, both from Denmark and Sweden, met new people, had a nice meal… I also had the time to see the sunset from air. What more could I wish for?
