OY-9797, wings on

Sunday morning began from a freshly brewed cup of coffee in Holbæk flying club:

Steen and Simba, both from DanAero, arrived early; it was a windy morning, and a warm drink before working in a hangar is always appreciated.

We were going to assemble my new aircraft – an Aeroprakt A22LS – that was delivered by DanAero on a truck earlier last week. We had a photo of us three taken in front of the aircraft (above) before beginning to work.

It was cold, but fun – as always!

Simba had prepared the call sign:

And attached it to the left wing:

Flemming also gave a hand. It was especially useful with the wings – they were quite heavy. Everything counts in a good team:

Steen, checking the flaperon’s connection:

Simba, assembling the fairings:

We worked whole day, and finished the most important tasks. We were happy we reached so much. Simba and Steen after our great working day:

They would normally do all the work on their own, and deliver the aircraft ready-to-fly. But I wanted very much to see and to help, and they kindly accepted me hanging around. A couple of working days more, and I will be flying!
