Weekend on Ærø island. Enjoying a swim on Eriks Hale

I slept 12 hours (must had been tired) and woke up when the sunlight began heating my tent.

Flemming stood up long time ago and patiently waited for me. It was cold during the night, somewhere mid-night or early morning. Flemming had to get up and get more clothers on. My sleeping bag is very warm (because I freeze easily), but I also thought it was cold.

We had a cup of tea and fruit for breakfast, with the very nice view. The air was getting warm quickly.

I got some nail polish on my toes – didn’t have the time to do it home 🙂

We biked to Marstal. I recently visited Ærøskøbing together with Skaiste, and needed a change 🙂

Our first stop was supermarket where we bought coffee, and lunch for later. Flemming and I sat outside the supermarket and enjoyed our coffee there:

Eriks Hale (English: Erik’s Tail) is a headland on the outskirts of Marstal. Neither Flemming nor me has ever been there, so we decided to explore that part of the Ærø island. There was also another reason for going that way – nudist beach. Flemming forgot to bring his bikini on the tour…

We left our bikes at the beginning of the Eriks Hale and walked to that nudist beach. The red beach hut on the photo below is probably the most photographed one on Ærø:

The beach was very good – clean and empty, and the waters – warm and pleasant:

We stayed there for some time and enjoyed the last warm summer time. I walked along the coast, looking for something special, like a stone or a shell – didn’t find anything.

Someone had planted a sunflower:

Later, it became a bit windy and therefore cool. We found a cozy corner for having lunch:

Slow walk by the marina of Marstal:

Eventually, we biked back to the airport:

Before heading for Holbæk, my home airport, we flew over the Eriks Hale:

It was beautiful from air, too:

The air became a little misty, but the sunset didn’t disappoint:

We were so happy we finally tested our camping gear on a flight trip. And we had such a nice relaxing weekend on Ærø!
