OY-9797 service, 300 hours

by Natalie Kjaergaard

My Oy-9797 has rounded 300 hours and needed to be serviced. I began from washing it:

Flemming was sipping on a glass of pilot’s champagne (sparkling water) and doble-checking the manuals:

Magnetic chip detector had a little bit of something on its top:

We cleaned it carefully with a white napkin, and examined the substance – it looked fine.

Safety wiring with twisting pliers wasn’t easy – I only do it once a year, not much practice!

I wasn’t satisfied with the results, and we did it again and again. On the fifth time, it was perfect:

A small break in the flying club’s garden:

A man came by, and asked Flemming whether he was on duty in the flying club. Flemming was not even a member! The man could probably not imagine, that a small woman sitting in front of Flemming, was a pilot, and had an aircraft on her own.

Oil change was completed, as well:

I treated the engine surface with the ACF-50, recommended by Danaero – it worked very well:

We opened the oil filter, and inspected it – it was completely clean. The Aviator was very happy about it:

Last quick check, and we were finished. Everything went fine, and was surprisingly easy, althought the service took its time.

We didn’t fly that day – I hadn’t sleep well, and would rather relax by the sea, which we did.
