Over Copenhagen with Sandie

by Natalie Kjaergaard

Sandie and I have known each other for a long time, since she opened her beauty salon, where I was one of the first clients. Sandie has always been my preferred beautician, and our friendship developed through the years. Lately, we talked about going flying together, and soon the weather gave us a good chance.

As it was a first flight in an ultralight aircraft for Sandie, and she – the same as me – lives in Copenhagen, I thought it would be fun for her to see our city from above.

I focused on flying, Sandie took pictures.

Nyhavn, one of the iconic places in Copenhagen, from 1300 feet:

The Church of Our Saviour known for its helix spire with an external winding staircase that can be climbed to the top:

A part of Christiania with Margretheholm, Lynetten marina, and Amager power plant in the background:

Trekroner Fort at the entrance to the Copenhagen harbour:

We continued north, and appreciated the stunning views. The north coast of Zealand, and we are turning right to Hensingør to take some good picture there:

Kronborg Castle, the ferry terminal, and the city of Helsingør:

After a couple of rounds there, Sandie and I headed back home to Holbæk:

Fredensborg Castle on our way:

And Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, in the evening sunlight:

The sunset with its pretty clouds, and different colours reflected in water, was magnificent:

We landed in Holbæk flying club, my home base, and Sandie helped to clean up the aircraft:

It was a very nice way to spend an evening together, and both Sandie and I enjoyed it very much.
