Møns Klint & Sækkesand island from air

I hadn’t flown for a month – the weather was terrible, and we had so much rain in Denmark that many grass airfields have been under the water. When Saturday offered nice flying whether, it was like a generous gift from the nature.

I’ve missed my Aeroprakt, too! It felt so good to finally pull it out of the hangar! I decided to fly to the island of Møn, though without landing there, but to do a round over its famous part – the Møns Cliff.

There was lots of chalk in the water, around Møns Cliff, after the recent storms:

The cliffs are facing east, and you need to be there early to take a good picture from air. I was there in afternoon, but the views were spectacular:

The steep and long staircase with 497 steps was broken during a storm in October, and is closed now, but it is still possible to get down and up again, and to go for a walk on those soft chalk narrow beaches:

I was very happy, I got to see the Møns Cliff in the sunshine. I also hoped to see some forests in autumn colours, but it seemed like there wasn’t much left of the colours…

I did a round over the Liselund Castle Hotel, where I once stayed:

It is a very nice place, perfect for a weekend getaway. I stayed in a suite, and there was lots of space. Coming by some rooms with doors opened, I noticed they were beautiful, too. This photo was taken during my stay at the Liselund Castle Hotel:

They have a nice restaurant and besides the Liselund park, one can walk to the 130 metres tall cliffs and to the beach:

I flew further, and the sunlight highlighted a forest on the northern part of Møn. At least I experienced some lovely golden colours from air!

Ulvshale peninsula and Nyord island, delightful nature areas:

North of Ulvshale I noticed something that attracted my interest. It was the island of Sækkesand, I never really paid attention to before:

It was just a sandbar, but what a pretty one!

I flew back home to Holbæk, and by the Brorfelde observatory spottet one more forest with a little autumn colours left:

I did a round over it, to better appreciate the beauty of our planet.

Though my flight couldn’t be called adventurous, I enjoyed it a lot. Sometimes it is small things in life that make a big difference.
