Long weekend in Kołobrzeg. Champagne!

by Natalie Kjaergaard

It was beginning of September, and the summer decided to give us a wonderful gift of several days with sunshine and high air temperatures. I took a couple of days off and headed for Kołobrzeg, a town on the coast of Baltic Sea in Poland.

My first stopover was in Barth for refuelling, because in Kołobrzeg there wasn’t any fuel.

Darsser Ort,  the northern point of the Darß on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast:

Quick refuelling in Barth, and take-off again:

The second flight was to Bagicz, a small airport located close to Kołobrzeg:

The town of Wolin on Dziwna river:

Dating from the 9th century, Wolin played an important role in the conversion of Pomerania. Several ruins from the Slavic period are found in the area. The early medieval town fell victim to the late 12th century Danish raids, and was refounded in 1260.

I was so happy I could take days off and fly somewhere!

Flying over Kołobrzeg, I could see the old town where I was going to stay:

There were many aeroplanes out in Bagicz, and of course also Aeroprakt:

People were coming to get a flight, there were many spectators as well.

I took a taxi, and soon was in my two-room apartment, which was newly renovated and very nice. And there was a queen-size bed. After sleeping on an almost a kind of a bench in Sävik the weekend earlier, I wanted to make sure I get a good sleep:

I went to the beach and spent my evening there. It was +28C, calm and very pleasant:

At “home”, a nice bath and a glas of sparkling helped to relax even more:
