Gilleleje with Vagn

by Natalie Kjaergaard

On a sunny afternoon my friend Vagn and I decided to fly to Gilleleje. I happily polished the windows of Vagn’s Rans:

The weather was very nice, with good visibility, and not that much wind. Hundested and its harbour:

And the atmosphere in the cockpit was cheerful:

Gilleleje is a small town of the Northernmost point of Sjælland, and is a part of the Danish Riviera, with beautiful beaches and good cultural life. Gilleleje from air:

We landed on Preben’s airstrip (PPR!):

Parked Vagn’s aircraft, and went to the town.

Gilleleje church from 1530:

We had dinner in one of the restaurants in the harbour. My smoked mackerel was ok, and Vagn’s favourite “stejerneskud” (traditional Danish fish dish) was as good as he expected.

After dinner we went to the harbour. And what a surprise! It was full of classic cars and bikes:

We walked around and looked at all that beauty.

There were many visitors as well, and it was just an ordinary evening.

Marina in Gilleleje:

When we got back to the airfield, Preben was there in his hangar.

We took off,

and enjoyed the marvellous sunset on our way back to Vagn’s airfield:
