Fly & swim

by Natalie Kjaergaard

It was so nice to have the time after work to go on a local flight! I had hoped, I could fly to one or another island nearby and go for a swim, but there wasn’t really time for flying to any islands.

Fine, I thought, then I’d just fly around and enjoy it 🙂 I took off, and had a look at Holbæk, a nice town close to my home airfield:

Munkholm island of approx 10 ha in Isefjord:

It is believed, once there was a small monastery, where the monks were responsible for the ferry service to Langtved in Hornsherred. After the Reformation, probably somewhere in 17th century, the monastery was closed down and Munkholm was first recultivated and inhabited in the 1800s.

It was a kind of very grey afternoon, and I could see there wouldn’t be any dramatic sunset. But I was happy to be airborne and to fly for no particular reason.

Bognæs, a protected peninsula at the bottom of Roskilde fjord:

The eastern part of Bognæs was so beautiful from air:

After flying around for a while and paying attention to the colours and shapes, I landed. I wanted to reach a short swim on the way home, and before it gets dark. My flight that day:

Driving home, I stopped by a small beach. The sun had just went down, and it was still light.

It was so pleasant to have a swim…

I felt I used my time on the right things in life 🙂 I needed some some relaxation time…

Nice flight, I am just wundering, I did not see any airfield; have you landed on the beach? I follow you sins your visit at EHST. I enjoyed your reports and so I learned about scandinavia.
I am a retired privat pilot. Later I wil introduce my self.
For now I have no time.
For now I wish you a lot of happy landings
Kind regards,

Thank you for reading my blogposts, Hans. I remember Stadskanaal very well – hoped to visit it this summer, but the weather was better in the esatern Europe.
I didn’t land on a beach, it is illegal in Denmark. I landed back in my home airfield, and drove to the beach.
Thank you for your kind wishes!
With best regards,
Natalie
