It was time to leave the island of Mors, I love so much. Wednesday morning there was a short window (of opportunity, as my Swedish friend Peter would have said) in the weather – without 45 knots gusts, only 20 knots. The day after it was going to start blowing again. Jens and I got up at 5 a.m. (we are on vacation, after all!), and got to the Svævethy aerodrome by the sun rise. To our surprise, the aircraft was covered in rime ice – in April!
It took us at least half an hour to remove the icing… And the sunrays helped, too.
Jens and I were going to Sindal – one of my favourite places to visit – and to stay there for 3-5 days, depending on the weather. The winds have been so strong in Jutland, especially in its northern part; we only had small chances for flying from one place to another.
Over the Limfjord that separates the North Jutland from the rest of Jutland peninsula:
It was very cold, and even with the cockpit heat on, we were freezing. But the flight was so enjoyable!
Chalk quarry in Aggersund – calcium carbonate has been mined in Aggersund for more than 100 years:
We landed in Sindal, and came up to the tower to say hello to Mogens:
After a short chat, we got into our rented car, and drove to the farm that was going to be our home whilst in Sindal – Lille Degnbøl. It was such a beautiful place! A former cow stable was renovated and made into some very stylish apartments:
There were many animals at the farm; we got fresh eggs from those hens:
A quick drive to a supermarket in Hirthals, and a walk in the harbour:
It was huge, with many interesting corners:
Jens and I had an early dinner:
And went for a walk on the farm:
I flew drone in the garden:
We looked forward to spend time on the farm, and go on sightseeing tours in the area.
