Home Flying trips Early spring in Kullaberg

Early spring in Kullaberg

by Natalie Kjaergaard

Last Tuesday the weather was suitable for flying to Sweden, and I invited Lars, a friend from the Albatros flying club, to see Kullaberg.

I’ve been to Kullaberg at least a hundred times, and I can never get enough of it. You can read more about the place in my other post.

It was a damn cold but sunny day, with a bit of turbulence in the air and occasional snow showers here and there. We read the weather forecasts and were well-prepared, and managed to be in the right places and the right time thus avoiding the dangers of snowfall and getting all sunshine.

Before landing in Höganäs at ESMH we did a round over Kullaberg. The views were breathtaking (they always are!).

Coming to ESMH Nordvästra Skånes Flygklub is always a pleasure. Starting from the last week in May there going to be regular fly-ins on Tuesdays – don’t miss them! Local fried herring is delicious, a classic Swedish dish.

We borrowed a car from the flying club, and went for lunch in Saluhallen, my favourite place in Höganäs.

Saluhallen was a factory where the tiles for the Sydney Opera House were manufactured. Today, only a small pottery production is left. Focus is changed to gastronomy, local specialities, and design. The beautiful dragon, Lars is sitting on in front of the Saluhall, is just an example of thing one can experience there.

A short stop in Mölle – a small picturesque town on the way to Kullaberg.

And finally Kullaberg with its scenic views.

I loved colourful ICA’s Easter style decorations, and Lars was kind to pose for this cheerful picture:
