Copenhagen by night

by Natalie Kjaergaard

It was my dream to go on a night VFR flight over Copenhagen. Kim and I were monitoring the weather, and yesterday the perfect night came.

We took off from Roskilde, and Vagn joined us. Vesterbrogade in the center of the photo above, and Tivoli – below.

Words cannot describe the joy we had when we observed all that light…

Kalvebod Brygge, Politigården, Fisketorvet:

We did several rounds above Copenhagen. It was so much fun!

A closer look at Tivoli, and you can even see the Christmas tree on the City Hall square:

Stunning views:

Final glimpse at Copenhagen before heading back to Roskilde:

The road in the center is Roskildevej, with the moon and one big star on the horizon:

Høje Taastrup. The red light is City 2:

It was quite dark outside Copenhagen. Roskilde airport and the litten up runway:

On final to RWY29:

And that was the aircraft we flew, called “Rødkælken” (“Robin”).

After the flight we hanged out in the airport building, having coffee and pilots talk. With Vagn (left) and Kim (right):

Many thanks to Kim for the very best flying experience this year!
