It was our last day of staying in Szidonia Castle Hotel. It was such a wonderful place, peaceful and beautiful, with gourmet food and excelent services, that we decided to spend the entire day just being there.
The Castle had a park around it, and we went for a leasure walk.
Small bridges and benches in the right places, ponds with lillies and fish… There was a small burial place of some of the previous owners:
Many trees had info signs. It was obvious, everything was taken a good care of. An outdoor swimming pool, if the spa area was too hot:
Flemming and I played table tennis:
Inside the Castle, there was also lots of room. The staff was so professional in everything they did, and they seemed to be very happy about their jobs – you felt like staying in the Le Grand InterContinental in Paris. I even asked them, how they were hired – because it was a brilliant hotel in the middle of nowhere. They told me, there were many corporate events with high-ranked guests, lavish weddings and other happenings.
After lunch, Flemming and I went to the wellness area and spent several hours there.
Different saunas, mineral spring water, relaxation…
I really enjoyed doing nothing:
In the late afternoon Flemming had a couple of meetings at work, and needed to prepare.
I had a glass of pink sparkling and fresh cherries, read art magazines relaxing on a coach – real luxury, something I never have the time to do at home:
You felt so warmly welcome in Szidonia and your privacy was respected everyrwhere.
If you needed anything – it was there, or you could just ask. The guests would go to the lobby and play piano, or play chess, or just have a talk over a cup of tea or a drink. There were many kids, I saw them – but I never heard them. Everyone behaved with respect for others.
One more evening with gourmet food:
Everything was settled for the next day – refuelling and hangar place agreed, a new apartment booked… We could just relax and enjoy.
